Chuck Norris was born in Ryan, Oklahoma, on March 10, 1940, to Wilma and Ray Dee Norris, who was a World War II Army soldier, mechanic, bus driver, and truck driver. Chuck Norris is a martial artist who has appeared in a number of action films and television series. Chuck Norris is familiar to fans worldwide as the star of action films such as The Hitman, The Delta Force, and Delta Force 2: The Colombian Connection.
Chuck Norris moved to California at an early age and attended North Torrance High School. Chuck Norris joined the Air Force after graduating from high school. It was there that Chuck Norris acquired the nickname “Chuck” and began his training in Tang Soo Do (tangs do), an interest that led to black belts in that art and the founding of the Chun Kuk Do (“Universal Way”) form. Chuck Norris was discharged from the U.S. Air Force in August 1962. Following his military service, Chuck Norris applied to be a police officer in Torrance, California.
Chuck Norris then opened a chain of Karate schools after his discharge from the ‘Air Force’ and founded his own martial arts school, ‘Chun Kuk Do. Chuck Norris’s fighting career lasted from 1964-1974. Chuck Norris started off by losing his first three tournaments but, by 1966, Chuck Norris was almost unbeatable.
