In 2010, Eduardo started his career with the Baltimore Orioles, contending for their Dominican Summer League squad. He had a respected newbie season, with a 3-4 win-loss record and an ERA of 2.33. The next year, he contested for the Gulf Coast Orioles in the Rookie-class Gulf Coast League and also made one opening for the Aberdeen IronBirds in the Class A-Short Season New York-Penn League. In 2012, Rodríguez was allocated to the Delmarva Shorebirds in the Class A South Atlantic League, where he gained a record of 5-7 with an ERA of 3.70 in 22 matches commenced.

In 2013, Rodríguez joined the Orioles for spring training and had a successful season with the Frederick Keys. He then advanced to Double-A Bowie Baysox and described the Orioles at the All-Star Futures Game. In 2014, he was rated as one of the leading candidates but met some time off due to a wound.
